Activision to release "tribute" game to 007 in time for Skyfall

James Bond, the super spy with a penchant for fashionable suits, hot women and shaken-not-stirred martinis, will be a getting a "first-of-its-kind" game from Activision -- 007 Legends.

The game will be a celebration of Bond's 50 years and will feature an original story that ties together six classic Bond films, ending with Skyfall. Players will be treated to Bond's signature weapons and gadgets, including the Walther PPK and an assortment of vehicles to take down a gallery of classic Bond villains (literally) and Bond women (figuratively).

Activision VP David Oxford says that "007 Legends offers a collection of his most famed moments in the smartest and most treacherous Bond game yet. Creating a video game storyline that ties together six popular, yet very different, Bond movie narratives can be challenging, but together with EON Productions, our developer Eurocom, has pulled it off to create a homage that we think will be a unique and highly entertaining Bond video game."

I'm in if Honey Ryder makes an appearance.

I'm curious as to how they plan to tie six classic Bond films together. I'm guessing that's one movie per actor that played him, with the "Skyfall" section being Daniel Craig's entry. One of my favorite fan theories is that "James Bond" is actually a code name and not a single person. I always thought that was a good way to explain the inconsistencies and continuity issues we saw in the films. Do I dare hope that Eurcom and EON will be going that route, at least in the game?

We'll be keeping a close watch on 007 Legends. Are you excited about this game as well? Would you like to see my fan theory play out in the game? Back me up here, damnit!
